President William Ruto has opened the Chemususu Last Mile Water Supply Project in Baringo County. This project aims to solve long-standing water problems in the area.
The Chemususu Dam, key to this project, was first opened in 2017. It can hold 12 million cubic meters of water and will serve over 600,000 people in Baringo and Nakuru counties.
The project includes:
- 30 new water tanks
- A large network of pipes
The project will help in many ways:
- Improve health
- Boost farming
- Create jobs
- Grow the local economy
Despite delays due to COVID-19, the project is almost finished.
President Ruto promised to complete similar projects across Kenya to improve people’s lives.
This water project will not only provide water for homes but also help farmers with irrigation and livestock.
The government hopes this project will lead to better development and living conditions in Baringo County.
