Uganda President Yoweri Museveni recently made allegations towards Babu Owino for supporting opposition in Uganda.
This went down during the endorsement of ODM leader, Raila Odinga
Owino started by expressing gratitude to Museveni for endorsing Raila Odinga’s candidacy but firmly defended his political stance. He emphasized his commitment to democratic values, stating,
Owino further articulated the struggles faced by the youth in both Kenya and Uganda, advocating for leadership that prioritizes the welfare of the people.
His response not only addressed Museveni’s accusations but also subtly criticized the Ugandan leader’s long-standing governance style.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna criticized Museveni for publicly reprimanding Owino and suggested that Museveni should have addressed such grievances through diplomatic channels. He stated,
