During a patrol in Pipeline, Embakasi South along Capital Express, police officers arrested three Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers.
The police officers managed to handcuff them and loaded them into the car, where they were to transport them to the Kware police station.
However, on their departure, a third soldier approached the car and jumped in it beginning to fight the police officers.
The two handcuffed soldiers did not hesitate to join him in the brawl. During the altercation, one of the handcuffed soldiers reached out to a female police officer and tried to grab her rifle.
Reportedly, they were heard informing the intruding soldier to reach out for the magazine. Consequently the scramble led to a discharge of a bullet which struck one of the soldier’s thighs.
The police officers managed to drive the vehicle straight into Kware police station with all the three soldiers apprehended. One of them was bleeding from his bullet wound and was rushed to Mama Lucy hospital for treatment.
The brawl left the officers with minor injuries and bruises. The female officer’s ripped jacket and blouse clearly indicated the intensity of the fight.
However, upon arriving the Police station, the soldiers were still violent as they did not want to reveal their identities.
The authorities restrained them and, consequently, conducted a search. As a result, they discovered that the individuals were KDF soldiers.
Amos Kipchumba Cheruiyot who serves under the Kenya Air force and Stephen Muuo SIla under the Kenya Army.
They later provided the millitary soldier ID of Evans Kipngetich who sustained the gunshot wound and had been hospitalised.
