Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has stepped in to assist former journalist Nasibo Kabale, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation.
This decision came after numerous concerned Kenyans reached out to Sonko regarding Kabale’s health situation.
In a recent social media update, Sonko confirmed that he has been in contact with Kabale’s mother and several of her former colleagues, including Ibrahim Aruko, Job Mwaura, and Geoffrey Mosuko.
He stated that “necessary action has already been taken,” and Kabale is now receiving treatment at the Mombasa Women Rehabilitation Centre, known for its successful recovery stories, including those of former boxer Conjestina Achieng and journalists Kimani Mbugua and Eunice Omollo.
Sonko emphasized the need for privacy during this challenging time, respecting the family’s wishes for minimal publicity.
He acknowledged the support from Kabale’s friends in the media, expressing gratitude for their solidarity.
In addition to his support for Kabale, Sonko praised the management of the rehabilitation center, led by Madam Amina Abdalla and her husband, for their dedication to helping individuals in need.
He expressed hopes for Kabale’s speedy recovery and underscored the collaborative efforts of family, friends, and rehabilitation centers in aiding those facing difficulties.
Sonko’s involvement reflects a broader community response to Kabale’s struggles, which came to light after an emotional video depicting her situation went viral.
This has prompted various public figures and citizens to rally around her during this critical time.
