A man in Brazil faced a terrifying encounter with a giant anaconda when it wrapped around him in chest-deep water.
In a desperate act of survival, he bit the snake to escape its grip. An onlooker filmed this dramatic near-death experience.
The incident took place in Terra Santa, located in the Amazon rainforest, on Sunday, September 29. As the snake constricted around him, the man fought back by sinking his teeth into the reptile near its head.
After more than half a minute of struggle, the anaconda finally released him. A friend then grabbed the snake’s neck and helped pull it onto a wooden boat.
Aftermath
While the video captures the intense struggle, it remains unclear if the man sustained any injuries during this life-threatening encounter.
Anaconda attacks are rare but can happen in their natural habitats throughout the Amazon jungle.
Anacondas, also known as water boas, are among the largest snakes in the world. They can grow over 26 feet long and weigh more than 200 kg.
Although they are not venomous, they kill their prey by wrapping their bodies around them and squeezing until they can no longer breathe.
