As this marked the official handover to Los Angeles, the host city for the Olympics 2028 Games.
Hollywood icon Tom Cruise made a dramatic entrance, descending from the roof of Stade de France to collect the Olympic flag.
He then exited in style, riding off on a motorcycle.
Similarly the ceremony also featured electrifying performances from top artists like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre.
These top artists performed on Venice Beach in Los Angeles.
Inside the stadium, British gold medallists Alex Yee and Bryony Page proudly carried the flag for Great Britain.
Yee triumphed in the men’s triathlon, and Page made history by winning Britain’s first Olympic gold in trampoline.
Team Great Britain finished the Games with an impressive 65 medals—14 gold, 22 silver, and 29 bronze—placing seventh in the overall medal table.
In a closing speech by International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach, Bach praised the Paris Games as “sensational” and “Seine-sational,” a nod to the river that runs through the city.
He called the event “the Olympic Games of a new era,” highlighting its focus on youth, urban culture, inclusivity, sustainability, and gender equality.
Bach also commended the athletes for their inspiring performances and the 45,000 volunteers who helped make the Games a success.
He emphasized the role of the Olympics in fostering a culture of peace, urging everyone to carry this spirit forward.
As the ceremony wrapped up, Los Angeles took the spotlight and continued with R&B artist H.E.R. performed the American national anthem inside the stadium, and viewers were treated to scenes from LA.
The Olympic flag was showcased at iconic locations like the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Venice Beach, and the Hollywood sign, where Tom Cruise stood with the Olympic rings.
The night ended on a high note with a performance by Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, leaving everyone excited for the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
