In a heartwarming turn of events, a Kisii family is rejoicing following the return of their son, Cyrus Osando, who went missing two years ago.
Osando, who was only 14 at the time, disappeared just days before he was scheduled to take the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam in September 2022.
Cyrus’s mother shared that the family had been tirelessly searching for him since his disappearance. Initially, the young boy left home in Nyanchwa estate, Kisii town, to seek job opportunities.
His journey took him to Maai Mahiu and later to Naivasha, where he found work tending to chickens.
A family member expressed, highlighting their relief at his safe return,

The family gathered to celebrate his return, singing and dancing joyfully. Despite the challenges of his absence, they expressed overwhelming gratitude.
His mother lamented,

While the family is grateful for Cyrus’s return, they are also looking to the future. His experiences have taught them the importance of communication and the need to support their children in pursuing their dreams while ensuring their safety.
