Wanjiku Mburu, famous for her role as Mama Baha in the hit TV show Machachari, has urgently appealed to President William Ruto for help in locating her brother, George.
He was abducted in Somalia nearly ten years ago. Recently, Wanjiku shared an emotional video on social media detailing their first contact after years apart.
Background of the Abduction
In 2014, kidnappers took George and a cousin in Mogadishu, Somalia. On October 7, 2024, Wanjiku received a shocking call from him.
During this call, George revealed that he had been handcuffed continuously and did not know where his cousin was.
He urged Wanjiku to raise awareness about his situation and the plight of other Kenyans held captive.
Wanjiku described her overwhelming feelings upon hearing her brother’s voice after so many years. She stated,
She constantly thinks about him and felt particularly heartbroken when she had to inform him about their mother’s passing in 2021.
Call for Action
Wanjiku emphasized the urgency of the situation in her plea to President Ruto. She said,
